Be a savvy patient

Know where to go for care. Urgent care is good for common conditions requiring prompt attention when your regular doctor isn’t available. Emergency care is for the treatment of life-threatening illnesses or injuries. If not a true emergency or you go to an out-of-network freestanding ER, you may be responsible for the cost of the visit.

Flu shots available

The flu season typically begins in September and can last as late as May. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends everyone 6 months and older in the United States, with rare exception, should get a flu vaccine every season. Schedule an appointment with your provider or stop by your local pharmacy. Children age 8 and under should see their pediatrician for a flu shot.
