What to know about COVID-19 coverage and the end of the Public Health Emergency
On May 11, 2023, the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency (PHE) will end. As a result, some of your coverage benefits for COVID-19 may be changing.
While the PHE is ending, we recommend that you continue to follow guidelines and recommendations set by health experts. Visit the CDC to find updated information and guidance.
If you have questions about your coverage, call the number on your health plan ID card to talk with a Member Services representative.
Understanding coverage after the PHE ends on May 11, 2023.
Your plan will cover ACIP recommended and CDC adopted COVID-19 immunizations and administration as part of preventive benefits.
COVID-19 lab tests
Your plan covers FDA approved or authorized COVID-19 lab tests that are ordered/performed by a physician or health care provider in accordance with your plan benefit, where cost share may or may not be applicable.
Over-the-counter COVID-19 tests
After May 11, 2023, your plan will no longer cover over-the-counter tests. You may use a Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) to pay for your over-the-counter tests.
Your plan covers FDA-approved or authorized COVID-19 treatments based on your medical or pharmacy benefits. Cost share may apply.
